*Bi-Polar??

So I am planning my own weddng......after almost 10 years together and 3 children, we are FINALLY havin' a hitchin'.....ha ha, sorry, I couldn't help myself. I have two TOTALLY different visions for my wedding. Joe is just as stumped as I, so I am mulling it over. Hopefully we can decide soon, because much of the "wedding week" will be DIY.

We will be married on Mackinac Island in Michigan. It is one of my absolutely favorite places in the world. I just get a feeling of *content sigh* when I think of the island. It is like an old world stuck in today's times.....there are no cars allowed, well no motor anything, for that matter. You get around by feet, horse back or carriage, and bicycle. And the lilacs....oh those lilacs.....I heart them A LOT! Anyways......I have feeling that this next year of planning all of the "wedding week's" events will bring some smiles, entertainment, and ideas to others.....I hope you enjoy! I will leave off right now with these two themes I have going on.

This one is what I call Muted Love.......it romantic, soft, vintage....

Muted Love

This one....completely different.....is also "ME" (well and Joe also of course). It is cheery, retro, summery and sun shiney.....

Summer Lovin'

So, there you go....my dilemma for the past two days.......*sigh*

*Feathers Satin and Lace....Oh My.......

Lingerie Bridal Shower

I hosted the most fun bridal shower EVER for my new sister-in-law. It was held in a private lounge atop the Louisiana Downs Racetrack Sky boxes. The theme was lingerie…..and LOTS of it =) I thought about every.single.detail. from feathers and jewels adorning each table, to favor bags made of satin and lace and filled with fragrances and hand sanitizers from Bath and Body Works, as well as a pen and a card to fill in giving the bride some bedroom pointers. There was a candy table with all pink and red candies to go and also the corset shaped, bustier cake handmade by a friend, for sweets. I pre-made a scrapbook with all guests in attendance each getting their own page. The oval shaped invitations to the party were 3 part and the last page being a questionnaire to fill out describing that person’s relationship with the bride. I also included each girl’s ”bedroom advice” card and attached it to their page. The book was all done and ready to be taken home by the bride that night when she left.
We had games galore with FUN prizes. From bathrobe and matching slippers to a gift card for Victoria’s Secret so the winner could score her own lingerie. We had so much fun and were not ready for the night to end, so of course we carried the party on late in to the night. Now I get the enjoyment of planning my own wedding for next June, to be held on Mackinac Island in Michigan. Stay with me, because I have soooo many sweet and unexpected surprises up me sleeve for that wedding week………
